David McLean’s chapbook, puppies and monks and medieval memories, is coming out in just two days! To make you all a little bit more giddy, here’s a sample poem from the book!
=====
a spoiled child
every body dreams like a spoiled child
who did not get everything at once
the instant she wanted it, or before
she even formulated the slightest
shadow of nascent desire.
we throw ourselves desperate
on the hospitable floor of the shop,
we scream there and writhe our nightmare
until time and life decide to stop,
until the disappointed children all fall off.
=====
GET HYPED!
