Submission Guidelines

HHI is closed to submissions from Tuesday, November 22 until Tuesday, November 29.

BREAKING NEWS! It is currently No-Wait November! If you submit this November, I will respond to you in under 24 hours NO MATTER WHAT!

Heavy Hands is a term in Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts. It refers to when a competitor has the ability to finish the fight at any time through their knock out power. That is what we look for in writing; something that packs the power of a knock out punch. Genre does not matter to us.  Romance, realism, nature, humor, anything. All we ask is that we get something powerful.

If you would like to submit, please do so by e-mail. Copy and paste your submission into the body of the e-mail; no attachments. If you attach a file, we will not even look at it. If we have not published your work before, send in up to three poems. If we have published your work before, send in up to five poems. Our e-mail address is HeavyHandsInk@gmail.com. We would also like it if you included a brief, third person biography. Also, we are not interested in sexual content.

Re-prints or previously published poems will not be accepted. Simultaneous Submissions are fine. If your work is accepted elsewhere, though, please notify us as soon as possible.

HeavyHandsInk reserves First North American Serial Rights. Feel free to have your work published elsewhere after we have done so, but you must note that we have published it first.

You should hear a response from us in one or two days. If rejected, we will explain why we did not accept your work so that you may know what to change when submitting here in the future.

If you are on Duotrope (which you should be, as it is a tremendous site), please report our responses to your submissions.

You may NOT withdraw or edit your piece after it has already been published.
